Summary

Dr. Herman earned his DDS from the University of Minnesota and completed advanced education clinical training in temporomandibular disorders with and MS in Dentistry. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain and is a Fellow of the Academy of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Herman is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the division of TMD and Orofacial Pain where he is involved in the education and training of upcoming specialists in the field of TMD and Orofacial Pain. He is active with the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Headache Society. Dr. Herman treats both adults and children with TMJ and Orofacial pain disorders. Working in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians including physical therapists, health psychologist, and physicians Dr. Herman works to coordinate and manage both simple and complex chronic pain disorders involving the jaw, face and head. Additionally, Dr. Herman has a special interest in the management of obstructive sleep apnea with the use of oral appliances.

Clinical interests include the conservative management of TMD and orofacial pain, integrative multidisciplinary care and dental sleep medicine.
