We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and CareCredit. Payment/co-payment of services is due at the time of your appointment.

The Orthodontics Clinic and Oral Pathology Laboratory have separate billing portals. If you have received care or services from Orthodontics or Oral Pathology, please use the appropriate link below. All other online payments should be routed through the UMN Dental Clinics billing portal.

Financing

CareCredit Financing Available

The School of Dentistry now accepts CareCredit. CareCredit is used by more than 150,000 enrolled providers around the country and has been offering dental financing for 26 years. The school offers interest free and installment plans. See if you pre-qualify.

Down Payments

Gold and fixed prosthodontics requires one-third of the payment down before treatment, one-third of the payment halfway through treatment, and the balance prior to completion. Removable prosthodontics requires one-third of the payment down before treatment, one-third at the teeth selection appointment, and the balance at the time of denture insertion.

Insurance

The University of Minnesota also accepts most private insurance plans, as well as Medical Assistance and Minnesota Care. Please call the Patient Accounting Office at 612-624-6110 for more information or to know if your specific plan is accepted at the University of Minnesota Dental Clinics.

We are an out-of-network provider for most insurance companies; however, in many cases you may still be covered under your policy. If you have out-of-network coverage, we will be happy to submit insurance claims on your behalf. Please provide us with current insurance information each time your plan is renewed.
