CBCT Scan Export Instructions

Please follow the instructions below based on your software version to ensure that your files are in the correct format for upload. If you encounter any difficulties uploading your files, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Expand all

Carestream

  1. With the patient scan open, select the "export volumes" button in the export tool window (looks like a skull with an arrow).
  2. Click browse after the "select output directory" bar to select the folder location for saving the scan.
  3. Select resolution "same as source"
  4. Select slice thickness "same as source"
  5. Select file format "CT" (one file per slice)
  6. Select Compressed
  7. Leave anonymize and create DICOMdir unselected.
  8. Upload the saved folder.

Dentsply Sirona

  1. Open the scan and the "output" work phase.
  2. Click on DICOM examination report.
  3. From the DICOM examination report menu select the desired location you'd like to save the data. Make sure "Anonymization" is unselected.
  4. Click on "Settings" tab. Leave "Options for exported 2D images" unselected.
  5. Under "Options for inclusion/exclusion of 3D objects select "include main volumes" and "include detail volumes". Leave "Include raw data" and "Facescan" unselected.
  6. Select "OK" and the scan will export.
  7. Upload the saved folder.

i-Cat/TxStudio/Anatomage Invivo

  1. Open the scan > Select File > Save As > File Save Type: Single File DICOM
  2. Choose your destination location
  3. Select Dicom File Save Option: “Lossless Compressed” (all other selections remain default).
  4. Upload the saved folder.

Instrumentarium

  1. Open the CBCT scan on your Instrumentarium computer.
  2. Selecte File > Open Image
  3. In the Images window, click on “CBCT” then click “Export."
  4. Specify the folder and file name of your preference for saving.
  5. Upload the saved folder.

J. Morita

  1. Start J.Morita i-dixel and open your patient’s scan.
  2. In the “Files” panel on the right of your home screen, click on the “Export the volume as a DICOMseries” icon.
  3. Select “Axial series…” from the menu.
  4. In the Reslice Volume window, choose your folder location or create a new folder to save thes scan.
  5. Open the folder you created in order to verify that the DICOM files were all exported. There should be several hundred files since these represent the slices of the CBCT scan.
  6. Upload the saved folder.

Planmeca/Romexis

  1. Open the scan you wish to send.
  2. On the top bar select Output > Export Volume.
  3. Select "Single Multi Frame Dicom File, Export Image Only, Resolution: (Orig), Bit depth (default), and Original Orientation
  4. Specify the folder and file name of your preference for saving.
  5. Upload the saved folder.

PreXion

  1. Select the patient’s CBCT scan in your PreXion CBCT machine database. Right click on the patient’s name and select “Study Management” and click “Download Study”
  2. In the “Browse For Folder” window, specify the folder and file name of your preference for saving.
  3. Upload the saved folder.

Vatech 3DPlus

  1. Open the patient’s CBCT in your Vatech CBCT machine computer.
  2. Select Tools > Export > Memory
  3. Specify the folder and file name of your preference for saving. Select “OK”
  4. Upload the saved folder.

Vatech Ex3D-i

  1. Open the patient’s CBCT in your Vatech CBCT machine computer.
  2. Select Main Menu > Export
  3. In the export window, select Save Type: Local Disk, Compression: Lossless, Check to Export: DCM Files. Click “Save”
  4. Specify the folder and file name of your preference for saving. Select “OK”
  5. Upload the saved folder.

Vatech EZDent-1

  1. Open scan in EzDent
  2. Right click on the thumbnail of the CBCT scan and select “Export”
  3. Specify the folder and file name of your preference for saving. Select “OK”
